NINEISMINE Conference

Play the Rights Card

The NINEISMINE campaign is an advocacy initiative of the children, for the children, by the children. Children are invited to engage with Members of Parliaments and ask them for their support for quality education and basic health and in particular for 9% of GDP.

On 15th October,2014, 4 students of DLDAV Model School Pitampura along with Ms. Neeta Chhabra visited UN office at Lodhi Road to attend the conference on Nine is Mine. The main event at the conference was Play the Rights Card. The Conference started with a skype call with the people living in New Zealand. During the call, everyone beat small drums and sang Child Rights song to show them that through NineisMine Campaigns, they have accomplished many goals. After the skype interaction the students were made to work in groups of six or seven each according to the colour of their Rights cards and they were given 2 tasks. Each card given to children depicted a child right. They had to identify the right through the freeze action game. They were also given tasks in which they had to compose poems and design posters.
At the end, all the students wore Malala Masks to create awareness and then the conference ended. It was  a rich and lively experience for one and all.
