The Royal Commonwealth Society supported by Cambridge University press organized online
Essay writing competition,2014 on the occasion of Glasgow Commonwealth Games. The
theme for this year's competition was 'Team Commonwealth', touching on both
the XX Commonwealth Games and the spirit of friendship between Commonwealth
nations. It received more than 9,500 entries from across the globe. Young
writers were encouraged to explore this theme and its relevance to their lives
in fun, academic, witty and most of all creative ways.
Garima Chhabra of class XI C from DLDAV Model School Pitampura has been
awarded Bronze Medal Certificate in the Senior Category for her 500 words entry
titled ‘What part does competition play in people’s daily lives’.
